I was born in Wales, UK and emigrated to Australia at the age of 2 with my family in 1969.
Like most artists, painting and drawing have been part of my childhood. Over the years family and work commitments have taken precedence, but I've always found time to "dabble".
Attendance at a local studio has provided me with important support and guidance which has inspired me to pursue my artistic development.
In 2004, I participated in a joint exhibition "Squirt" with other Studio members. Not only did I sell quite a few paintings, but received my first commission.
I held my first solo exhibition in August 2007 as part of the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) festival.
My medium of choice is oil and my style varies a lot depending on the subject. I enjoy experimenting with colour and form to produce contemporary landscapes, still life and abstracts.
Painting can be calming and invigorating, frustrating and satisfying, but importantly it provides me with a creative outlet which (often) brings with it a great sense of accomplishment.
The paintings on this website are original one-offs. I do not offer prints,
but would be happy to discuss a customised painting. If you have a specific
